Games at the Division 1B World Championships in Shenzhen are averaging 4192 fans, with China's games averaging 7339.

Attendance at the Division 1A World Championships in Shenzhen, China is far outperforming the recent attendance at the top division World Championships from April held in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. 

While Canada and USA are often considered the premier locations for IIHF events, specifically women's hockey due to the large market, although it's clear the market for women's hockey is rapidly becoming more global.

Through the first 12 games of the tournament, an average of 4192 attended per game Shenzhen. 

Through the first 12 games at the top division World Championships in Brampton this year, the average attendance was 1881. The highest attendance game at that point in the tournament was between Canada and Czechia bringing in 4036, below Shenzhen's average. Canada's game against USA in the round robin brought in 4322 fans.

While looking at the host teams in each tournament, Canada averaged 3905 fans, while China averaged 7339 fans per game.

China earned promotion to the top division of the World Championships in 2024 in Utica, New York, where they could earn the opportunity to face Canada or the USA.
