Canada and USA have named their U-18 national team rosters for the annual Summer Showcase Series. The two teams will play a trio of games in Lake Placid, New York. Last year Canada won the series.
Returning from Canada's U-18 World Championship gold medal winning team last season are Sofia Ismael, Alide Korte, Anais Leprohon, Maddie McCullough, Hayley McDonald, Rachel Piggott, Caileigh Tiller, Rosalie Tremblay, and Kate Viel.
“We are extremely proud of the group selected to wear the Maple Leaf in Lake Placid,” said Canada head coach Vicky Sunohara.
“This team brings a strong mix of new faces to our program and returning experience. The selection camp was tremendously competitive; each player has earned the opportunity to represent Canada this summer. This series against the U.S. is an important step in our journey to further develop our players and continue the selection process as we prepare to host the world championship in January.”
Canada gained a star in the making this year in Adrianna Milani who played in the summer series last year for USA as their top player. She's among an incoming group of strong 2009 born players. Joining Milani as 2009 born players are Maggie Hughson, Avery Jones, Aurora Matt, and Megan Mossey.
Of the 25 players named to Team Canada, 17 will play in the OWHL in Ontario, Canada's top junior women's league next season with four players coming from the Etobicoke Dolphins, three for the Ottawa Lady Senators, and two each from the Burlington Barracudas, Durham West Lightning, and Barrie Sharks. Three players are coming from RINK Kelowna.
Rounding out Canadaa's roster on the blueline are Chelsea Tiller, who is the twin sister of returning forward Caileigh, Keira Owen, and Kali Maechtel. Up front are Mae Severn, Jaylee MacKinnon, Kennedy Sisson, Kendall Doiron, and Aubrey Morrison. In net, Canada has no goalies returning, bringing Avah Sedore, Rowan Houweling, and Lea-Rose Charrois.
It's been a few seasons since USA's U-18 roster was able to consistently challenge Canada, but this summer USA looks to change that. USA has nine players returning from their 2025 silver medal winning roster including Kylie Amelkovich, Maggie Averill, Jane Daley, Sloane Hartmetz, Maddy Kimbrel, Annabelle Lovell, Christina Scalese, Morgan Stickney, and Chyna Taylor.
In net, Stickney is joined by Bianca Birrittieri of the Pittsburgh Pens Elite program, and 2009 born Team Illinois goalie Cecilia Wielenberg.
Alongside Averill, Taylor, and Hartmetz on the blueline are Mia Miller, Ava Decourcey, Kateryna Sander, Taylee Manion, and Addison McLay.
Up front Catherine McCool, Emily Pohl, Christina Scalese, Talia Hansen, Lily Bromley, Alina Gnetz, Jillian McLaughlin, Lindsay Stepnowski, Bailey Rupp, and Bria Schilling join the high flying group of returnees.
Five players from Team USA are slated to play for Shattuck St. Mary's this season while nine are playing high school hockey in Minnesota.
Canada and USA will face off on August 13, 14 and 16 in Lake Placid, New York.
