Canada blew out Finland 8-1 to punch their ticket to the gold medal game, again facing the United States.
Earlier in the day, USA edged Czechia 2-1 for their place in the gold medal game.
After Michelle Karvinen opened the scoring early in the game for Finland, it was all Canada from that moment on.
Less than two minutes after Karvinen's opener, Erin Ambrose jumped on a loose puck and beat a sprawling Emilia Krykko to tie the game. Before the first period was out, Marie-Philip Poulin scored what would stand as the game winner. While Poulin's goal was the game winner, it was more significant historically as it was her 87th career World Championship point, the most ever by a Canadian passing Hayley Wickenheiser.
In the second period, Daryl Watts scored back-to-back goals for Canada to open up a significant and insurmountable lead for Team Canada. Watts would not finish the game after being assessed a five minute major and game misconduct for a head check to Michelle Karvinen. The hit could leave Canada without Watts for the gold medal game against USA.
Before the second frame was out, Emily Clark and Danielle Serdachny extended Canada's lead to 6-1.
In the third, Claire Thompson and Sarah Nurse piled on more giving Canada the 8-1 result.
Canada's Ann-Renee Desbiens moved into sole possession of most wins ever at the World Championship stopping 19 of 20 shots faced.
Canada will face USA for gold, while Finland will play Czechia for bronze.
