Canada erased a 3-0 series deficit for the second straight season to capture the Rivalry Series win against USA.
Canada was paced by a two goal performance from Natalie Spooner and Emma Maltais helping Canada earn the 6-1 win.
After Spooner's first of the game, Marie-Philip Poulin ripped a shot by Nicole Hensley to make Canada's lead in the game 2-0 early in the second. Midway through the frame, Emma Maltais made a beautiful pass to find Ashton Bell joining the rush who beat Hensley, ending the American netminder's night in favor of Abbey Levy.
Before the period was out, Grace Zumwinkle stripped Ann-Renee Desbiens off the puck as she was out to play it on the powerplay before tucking it home on the empty net to close Canada's lead to 3-1. Less than a minute later however, it was Spooner's turn again to score her second of the game to put Canada ahead 4-1.
In the third, Emma Maltais scored a pair of goals extending Canada's lead to 6-1.
Spooner and Maltais each finished with two goals and an assist, while Sara Nurse also had a three point game collecting three assists in the win.
Ann-Renee Desbiens had to make 24 saves in the victory.
