    Canada has outscored their opponents 30-0 and outshot them 173-9 in their opening two wins at the FISU World University Games in Italy.

     - Canada Dominant Early At World University Games

    The women's hockey competition at the FISU World University Games is well underway in Torino, Italy, and Canada is putting in a dominant performance.

    Team Canada, composed of many of the top U Sports hockey players from across Canadian university hockey, has outscored their opponents by an incredible 30-0 through two games.

    Facing Chinese Taipei, Canada piled on 84 shots and won 16-0 to open their tournament. Waterloo University standout Leah Herrfort had four points, as did Nipissing's Madison Desmarais. University of Moncton's Erica Plourde had a three point game, as did Concordia's Emilie Lussier and St. Mary's defender Abigail MacKenzie.

    Canada followed it up with another lopsided result beating Great Britain 14-0. This time they piled 89 shots on their opponent in the game while allowing only two against. Lussier had a hat trick and five points to lead the way, while Plourde and Herrfort had four point nights.

    Canada's toughest competition in the round robin portion of the event will come later this week as the team faces Slovakia. Slovakia also opened with two wins beating Great Britain 20-0 and Chinese Taipei 6-2. 

    In Group B action, Czechia defeated USA 6-2 to open their tournament, while Japan shutout Kazakhstan 10-0.
