Canada is well aware that USA won gold last season on Canadian soil, and there's a chance to write a different story for their team this year on American soil.

Emily Clark talks about another gold medal match up against Team USA at the 2024 IIHF women's World Championships.

Canada is hoping to write a story. Not the same as last year where they skated away with silver. In 2024, Canada wants their story to be written in gold.

What happened last year was Canada getting out to an early lead on home soil against USA in the gold medal game, and seeing that lead slip away resulting in an American gold medal.

"I remember last year, I remember what happened, and we want the story to be different this year," said Ann-Renee Desbiens following Canada's semifinal win over Czechia

"Of course it leaves a bit of a bad taste in your mouth, a chip on your shoulder, whatever you want to put it, but it's a different group this year and a different story that we're trying to write here," said Emily Clark.
