Hockey Canada named their 25 player roster for the upcoming 2025 World Championships in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia.

The roster includes six players - Chloe Primerano, Hannah Miller, Daryl Watts, Sophie Jaques, Eve Gascon, and Jennifer Gardiner - who will make their Canadian national team debuts.

“We are excited about the team we have selected for Women’s Worlds, a team that is built on exceptional talent, character and commitment,” said Team Canada head coach Tory Ryan. “We are focused on our preparation and ultimately winning a gold medal. We are ready for the challenge and proud to represent our country.”

The newcomers replace Emerance Maschmeyer, Jamie Lee Rattray, Nicole Gosling, Jamie Bourbonnais, Julia Gosling, and Ashton Bell who were members of the 2024 gold medal winning team.

Canada's roster has a decided eye on the future as Hockey Canada prepares to field their roster for the 2026 Olympic Games.

“With less than a year to go until the 2026 Olympics, this is our final opportunity to face a number of opponents and compete at the highest level as part of our preparation,” said general manager Gina Kingsbury. “We are excited about the team we have assembled to contend for a gold medal while also looking long-term on the road to Milan.”

From the 2024 gold medal winning roster, 17 players will return. That group includes Erin Ambrose, Kristen Campbell, Emily Clark, Ann-Renee Desbiens, Renata Fast, Sarah Fillier, Brianne Jenner, Jocelyne Larocque, Emma Maltais, Sarah Nurse, Kristin O’Neill, Marie-Philip Poulin, Danielle Serdachny, Ella Shelton, Natalie Spooner, Laura Stacey, and Blayre Turnbull. Micah Zandee-Hart also returns to Canada's blueline.

Gotta be tough to make that roster, probably so many politics. Others should be there including former NT players but are not. Some PWHL players not doing anything this season but on the roster . KO43 four points in 24 games, 20 pim and a -12.

Wish Eldridge or Cava were there. A little confused why KO43 and Maltais are there?
