Team Canada won three straight against Team USA in dominant fashion at the U-18 Select Series in Lake Placid.
After winning the first two games 4-0 and 6-1, and outshooting the USA 77-25, Canada needed a stronger effort in their final game against USA taking a 4-2 decision in a more evenly fought contest.
Stepping out of the penalty box, Kassidy Carmichael stole a puck for Team USA and broke in alone beating Canada's Marilou Grenier for USA's first lead of the series.
Canada's Jessica MacKinnon answered back with a helper to Maxim Tremblay before USA's Josie St. Martin jumped on a rebound out front before roofing the go ahead goal yet again.
In the second period, Chloe Primerano got her first of the series joining a shorthanded 3-on-1 that she finished with MacKinnon and Cailtin Kraemer assisting.
Entering the third period tied 2-2, Canada found their step in the third getting goals from Emma Venusio with Kraemer earning a helper, Jessie Pellerin assisted by Kraemer again, and finally Kraemer herself on the powerplay with Primerano assisting.
Caitlin Kraemer finished the game with a goal and three assists, while MacKinnon and Primerano had a goal and an assist each, and Maxim Tremblay had a pair of helpers.
Canada is the back-to-back reigning gold medalists with USA taking silver each time.
