Canada wanted gold, but ended up winning bronze in a lopsided decision over Finland at the 2024 IIHF U-18 World Championships. Caitlin Kraemer and Chloe Primerano also played their way into the record books.

It wasn't the color of medal Canada hoped for, or was anticipated to win, but they came home with a medal none-the-less winning bronze in a decisive game against Finland.
Canada beat Finland 8-1 to win bronze.
Abby Stonehouse and Caitlin Kraemer continued to power Canada's offense with Stonehouse and Kraemer each scoring a pair of goals. Kraemer's goal moved her into second all-time in U-18 World Championships goals passing USA's Alex Carpenter and sitting second only to Kendall Coyne Schofield.
Kraemer's totals also put her into first all-time in scoring with Canada's U-18 program, which includes IIHF competition and exhibition competition.
Chloe Primerano also stepped into the record book again in the bronze medal game assisting on Canada's first goal by Mackenzie Alexander. The marker gave her 14 points in the tournament, the most ever in a single event by a Canadian defender. She'd later add a pair of goals to pad her record at 16 points. Her totals also gave her the most goals all-time by a Canadian defender at the tournament.
Rhyah Stewart got the start in net for Canada after Hannah Clark stumbled in the semi-finals allowing three goals on 10 shots in the loss. Finland did not manage many attempts on net totalling only 12 shots total. As she has the entire tournament, Emma Ekoluoma was Finland's top offensive producer tallying their lone goal.
Czechia and USA will face off for gold today.
