    UTICA, NY -- The IIHF today officially announced Ceska Budejovice, Czechia as the host location for the 2025 IIHF Women's World Championship.

    "This is a big deal for us to host this tournament in Czech Republic, said co-president Jiri Sindler of the 2025 tournament.

    Czechia has won back-to-back bronze medals at the World Championships, and this year for the first time ever, won a silver medal at the IIHF U-18 World Championships.

    This year Czechia will again play for bronze at the top division of the World Championships.

    Every time the IIHF coming to Czechia, it's a success," said IIHF president Luc Tardif.

    Tereza Sadilova, co-president of the 2025 World Championship tournament committee stated the tournament will run from April 9 to April 20.

    The arena in Ceska Budejovice has a capacity of 6,421.
