
For the first time in the nation's history, Czechia has been awarded the IIHF women's World Championship for 2025.

No country in the world has shown the rapid rise to join Canada and USA as women's hockey superpowers that Czechia has, and the nation has been rewarded for those efforts being named host of the 2025 IIHF women's World Championship.
At the 2023 World Championships in Brampton, Ontario, the 2024 tournament host city was announced sending the tournament to Utica, New York. Seeing the tournament played in Canada, USA, and Czechia in consecutive seasons speaks to the direction the sport is headed for women.
The announcement of Czechia as the 2025 host marks the first time in tournament history the event will be played in the nation.
This summer, the Division IA tournament is still to be played, which will take place in August in China.
Other 2024 tournament locations include Division IB in Latvia, Division IIA in Spain, Division IIB in Turkey, Division IIIA in Croatia, and Division IIIB in Estonia.
