Fanni Gasparics has signed a short-term contract with Brynäs IF in the SDHL, but still has hopes to return to the PWHL.

Fanni Gasparics, who played last season for the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters has signed a short-term contract in Sweden with Brynäs IF.

Gasparics is a member of Hungary's national team and represented Team World at the 2023 PHF All-Star festivities.

"This feels very good," said Gasparics of signing in the SDHL. "After I found out that there would be no continuation with the Metropolitan Riveters next season, I have been in contact with Brynäs. I got a good first impression and I immediately felt that it would be a good place for me to be as it has everything that I am looking for. I know that the club is a top team and has been fighting for the gold for several years, so I am incredibly excited to join the team."

Gasparics contract only runs through until November 5 as the forward still hopes to join the new PWHL, allowing her to get into game shape, while bolstering Brynäs' roster over the next month.

"Fanni is a good match for us, both as a player and as a person," said Brynäs manager Erika Grahm. "She has been for many years a leading player in the Hungarian national team and has made a great journey there. As a player, she is a strong and skilled forward who has a good sense of goal. She will be very useful to us during the time she is here with her leadership qualities."
