Czechia couldn't give a sold out crowd of 5,859 in České Budějovice what they wanted falling to Finland 4-2. Czechia was favored heading in, but struggled to find their footing on home ice.

Finland however, kept things simple and found ways to score, while Sanni Ahola made 27 saves to guide the Finns to a win.

Tereza Vanisova opened the scoring for Czechia scoring the only goal for the host nation in the first period.

In the second period, Finland got a pair of goals from their blueline with Ronja Savolainen and Elli Suoranta scoring. New York Sirens forward Noora Tulus assisted on both Finnish goals in the second.

In the third, Finland continued to pile on the offense with Julia Schalin and Elisa Holopainen scoring.

Czechia attempted to make a late push but it wasn't enough. Kristyna Kaltounkova scored her second of the tournament on the power play to pull Czechia within two, but that's how the game would end.

Czechia will close out their Group A round robin play against Canada, while Finland faces Switzerland in their final game.
