Taylor Baker's hockey career will continue this season in Sweden after the defender signed with Brynas of the SDHL.

"I am very excited to join Brynäs for the rest of the season," Baker said in a translated team press release. "I hope to come in and help the team win games. I have only heard good things about the organization and can't wait to get started."

Baker appeared in three games this season with the Sirens, and played 22 last season for PWHL New York. She's also a member of Hungary's national team.

Baker isn't the only recent signing by Brynas to bolster their lineup. The team recently added Maude Poulin-Labelle after she was released from the Boston Fleet's training camp, and also signed fellow Hungarian national team player Fanni Gasparics who spent last season in the PWHL with Ottawa. For general manager Erika Grahm it's another opportunity to move her roster forward from the middle of the pack in the final month of the SDHL season.

"When the opportunity to bring Taylor into the team arose, we did not hesitate," said Grahm. "We have had major problems with injuries and absences of late, which now gives us a better sense of calm. She is a player who will broaden and sharpen our team, especially in the game with the puck. She possesses a playing skill and experience that will be very useful when there are many important and decisive matches."

Baker will be part of the Hungarian roster vying for a spot in the 2026 Olympics at qualifying events next month.
