One of the top German players in the world, Franziska Feldmeier has signed with Linköping in the SDHL for this coming season.

"It feels fantastic to sign for a club like Linköping," Feldmeier said in a team news release. "I really like what I have been presented to me and look forward to putting on the LHC suit in the autumn. I want to help the team achieve the goals we will set and slowly but surely grow into the coming season. Personally, I want to continue developing as an elite athlete both on and off the ice and be that decisive player in front of the opponents' net"

Feldmeier, 24, has spent her entire career playing in Germany with ESC Planegg in the DFEL where she's perennially averaged more than a point per game.

With Germany at the recent IIHF World Championships in Canada, Feldmeier finished second in team scoring recording five points in six games for her national team. At the U-18 level, Feldmeier twice captained her U-18 national team.

"She is a tough and solid player who will benefit from the tackling rules in our league," said Linköping general manager Sabina Eriksson. "On top of that, she has a great game sense and an ability to solve tight game situations in an exemplary way. It will be incredibly fun and exciting to see Franziska in LHC next season!"
