Germany has named their national team roster for the 2023 IIHF women's World Championships in Utica, New York.

Germany will enter the 2024 IIHF women's World Championships in Utica, New York with a veteran roster, but it's also one that will face a significant uphill battle against the talent at this tournament.
The most notable member of Germany's World Championship roster is PWHL Ottawa netminder Sandra Abstreiter who kept Germany in several games last year in Brampton.
“We are looking forward to the upcoming World Cup, for which we have nominated a good mix of experienced and young players," said head coach Jeff MacLeod in a translated release. "Our team was able to gain significant experience during the season at a high level in the PWHL, at college, in the DFEL and also in national team activities. We are looking forward to the energy that the younger players will bring with them with their new experiences from the season."
Five members of Germany's roster will come from the NCAA in defender Nina Jobst Smith from Minnesota-Duluth, RPI's Nina Cristof, St. Cloud's Svenja Voigt, and Boston University sisters Lilly Welcke and Luisa Welcke.
The other player competing outside Germany this season was Franziska Feldmeier, Germany's top scorer at the 2023 World Championships. She spent the bulk of the season in Sweden with Linkoping before returning to ECDC Memmingen.
Fellow ECDC Memmingen forward Nicola Eisenschmid returns up front and will be counted on to be one of Germany's top contributors. She led Germany's DFEL in scoring this season with 45 points in 24 games.
On the blueline, Daria Gleißner is Germany's top defender aside from Jobst Smith and will be counted on to play big minutes in Utica.
Germany is bringing four newcomers to their national program to Utica including Lisa Hemmerle, Hannah Loist, Lucia Schmitz, and Tara Schmitz. Loist, a netminder, is the youngest player on the team. The 16-year-old, 2007 born goalie spent the season bouncing between EHC Wolfsburg's U-17 and U-20 teams.
