
Hockey Canada nine member Board of Directors were voted in this week including five women. Among them was Canadian national team alumni Gillian Apps.

Hockey Canada's members voted in a new nine-person board of directors this week at their annual general meeting, a group which included five women.
Gillian Apps, Amanda Fowler, Kristi Miller, Krista Outhwaite, and Marian Jack were the women elected to the board of directors, which also includes Corey Hirsch, Geoffrey Wong, Grant Borbridge, and Jonathan Goldbloom.
Goldbloom was appointed the new chair of the board.
“I am very proud of the meaningful progress that our transition board of directors made in leadership renewal, sport safety, good governance and financial transparency and accountability for Hockey Canada,” said Goldbloom. “We have a strong foundation to build upon and I am eager to work with my new colleagues and Hockey Canada’s leadership team to continue to advance the sport that we love as Canadians.”
The new board was named following the one year term of Hockey Canada's transition board, which were named to help guide the organization out of numerous scandals involving alleged sexual assault and the use of "slush funds" to pay to conceal these acts.
Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Julie Duranceau, David Evans, Marni Fullerton and Andrea Poole were among the outgoing members of the transition board.
Incoming board member Gillian Apps is a a three-time Olympic gold medallist and three-time World Championship gold medalist for team Canada, who now works as a consultant and senior analyst with Newmark.
Amanda Fowler is the founder and principal of Aviva Canada, a sports litigation practice she stated in 2015. She's also a former board member of ParaSport Ontario.
Marian Jacko, a returning member from the transition board, is the Assistant Deputy Attorney General for the Indigenous Justice Division of the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. She is also the president of the Little Native Hockey League (Little NHL).
Kristi Miller is the managing partner of Vancouver based private equity firm Krystal Growth Partners.
Finally, Krista Outhwaite is the former chair of the board of Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO), and former president of the Public Health Agency of Canada. She also joined Hockey Canada’s Risk Management Committee in 2023 and was on the executive committee for Hockey Canada's inaugural Beyond the Boards Summit.
