Hockey Canada announced their 48 player roster for Canada's national team training camp beginning next month in Quebec City ahead of the 2026 World Championships in November.
Hockey Canada is bringing together 48 players to compete for a roster spot with Canada's senior national team at the 2026 World Championships.
They'll open training camp October 8 in Quebec City.
“We have an incredibly talented group of athletes who have been invited to our October camp, including Olympic gold medallists and world champions alongside some new faces to Canada’s National Women’s Team,” said general manager Daniele Sauvageau. “We will begin cultivating our identity as a team during our camp in Quebec City ahead of the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship, while looking ahead to prepare for this Olympic quadrennial.”
Only 18 of the 23 players who won silver at the 2026 Olympics will be back. Canada invited the other portion of that group, but they were unable to attend. Returnees from the 2026 Milan Olympics include forwards Emily Clark, Sarah Fillier, Jennifer Gardiner, Julia Gosling, Brianne Jenner, Emma Maltais, Sarah Nurse, Kristin O'Neill, Laura Stacey, and Daryl Watts; defenders Erin Ambrose, Renata Fast, Sophie Jaques, Jocelyne Larocque, Ella Shelton, and Kati Tabin; and goaltenders Ann-Renee Desbiens and Kayle Osborne.
Newcomers or past national team members from the PWHL include forwards Jessie Eldridge, Rebecca Leslie, Abby Newhook, Hannah Miller, Danielle Serdachny, and Sarah Wozniewicz; defenders Nicole Gosling, Ashton Bell, Jaime Bourbonnais, Brooke Disher, Kendall Cooper, Sara Swiderski, and Micah Zandee-Hart; and goaltenders Raygan Kirk, Hannah Murphy, and Corinne Schroeder.
From the NCAA, Hockey Canada is bringing the biggest cohort in recent memory. It's a group that includes netminder Eve Gascon (Minnesota-Duluth); defenders Ava Murphy (Wisconsin), Chloe Primerano (Minnesota), and Emma Venusio (Wisconsin); and forwards Jocelyn Amos (Ohio State), Eloise Caron (Northeastern), Caitlin Kraemer (Minnesota-Duluth), Sara Manness (Clarkson), Claire Murdoch (UConn), Hayley McDonald (Ohio State), Grace Outwater (Penn State), Emma Pais (Colgate), Abby Stonehouse (Penn State), and Rosalie Tremblay (Wisconsin).
Hockey Canada also invited Emerance Maschmeyer, Anne Cherkowski, Sarah Paul, Marie-Philip Poulin, Natalie Spooner, Blayre Turnbull, and Claire Thompson, but all were unable to attend.
At camp, players will be split into Red and White teams for practices, fitness testing and a pair of intrasquad games on October 12 and October14 at the Centre Vidéotron.
From the camp, a roster of players will be selected to compete in Windsor, Ontario on October 28 and Plymouth, Michigan October 30 against the United States ahead of the World Championships from November 6-16 in Denmark.
