Kendall Coyne Schofield is a future Hockey Hall of Famer. She's one of the most decorated players in USA Hockey history, and served as USA's captain at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships and the 2022 Olympics.

After that tournament, Coyne Schofield played a handful of games in the PWHPA, before stepping away for her pregnancy.

Coyne Schofield watched USA win gold without her at the 2023 World Championships in Brampton, but this year is back, and through the PWHL is game ready.

"It's an honor to be able to put this jersey back on, it wasn't easy to get back here after giving birth nine months ago, it took a lot of hard work, commitment, and a supporting crew back home..." said Coyne Schofield.

"It definitely wasn't easy, but it's definitely worth it."

This season Coyne Schofield is captaining Minnesota in the PWHL, but unlike year's past, she's not captaining Team USA.

Despite not having a letter on her sweater, Coyne Schofield remains a leader, but she also knows USA's leadership is in good hands.

"We have three phenomenal captains in Hilary (Knight), Alex (Carpenter), and Megan (Keller) and they do a phenomenal job in that room and obviously have done a phenomenal job since I took a little bit of a hiatus from the program and you can see the leadership that oozes out of them on a nightly basis."
