Liz Keady Norton, head coach of Dartmouth College's women's ice hockey team has been named the head coach for USA's U-18 women's team for the 2024 IIHF U-18 World Championships.

"I am grateful for the opportunity and privilege of leading this tremendous group," Keady Norton said in a Dartmouth news release. "I feel fortunate to work with and have the opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches and players in the country."

Last season Keady Norton was the assistant coach of USA's bronze medal winning team. Prior to Dartmouth, she served coaching roles at Boston University.

In 2022, Liz Keady Norton was included in a list by The Hockey News of women who could break the NHL's coaching gender barrier.

Alongside Keady Norton is USA hockey legend Brianna Decker, who will serve as an assistant coach, as will Holy Cross associate head coach Meredith Ross. Decker spent this season coaching with Shattuck St. Mary's.

Rounding out their coaching staff is goaltending coach Sanya Sandahl.

Keady Norton, Decker, and Roth are all former members of the USA senior national team.

Seven members of last year's Team USA, who suffered a stunning upset in the semifinals to Sweden before winning bronze, are eligible to return. Most notably, leading scorer Maggie Scannell from last seasons's tournament can return. Scannell had eight points in five games at the 2023 tournament. This season with Shattuck St. Mary's she scored 39 goals and 77 points in 48 games. Scannell will join the University of Wisconsin Badgers in 2024-2025.
