Alina Müller was named the Swiss Woman of the Year for the fifth time in her career this week. The PWHL star was recognized as the nation’s top player.
Also taking home a top honor at the annual Swiss Ice Hockey Night was forward Estelle Duvin. The French national team player was named Switzerland’s PostFinance League MVP.
It was the second straight season Duvin was named the best player in Switzerland’s top league for the second straight season. This year Duvin had 23 goals and 54 points in only 28 games for SC Bern. The other nominees for the award included Lara Stalder and Rahel Enzler.
Müller recently finished her second season in the PWHL and has emerged as arguably the Boston Fleet’s top player. When the expansion draft occurred, Müller was the only forward protected by the Fleet. She was Switzerland’s leader at the World Championships and is considered one of the top players in the world. Müller beat fellow nominees Lara Stalder, Sinja Leeman, and Sasha Maurer for the award.
