
Natalie Spooner, the PWHL's MVP and a gold medallist with Canada has been voted the IIHF's 2024 Female Player of the Year.

Natalie Spooner was the overwhelming winner in naming the IIHF's Female Player of the Year for 2024. The Team Canada and PWHL Toronto forward had a dominant year winning numerous awards.
Last week Spooner was named the PWHL's Most Valuable Player and Forward of the Year after leading the league in goals (20) and points (27).
She also won gold with Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Championships in Utica, New York.
With close to 100 voting members of media from across 16 nations, Spooner earned 33.6% of the vote. PWHL New York and Team USA forward Alex Carpenter was second with 14.6% followed by Marie-Philip Poulin (11.5%), Alina Muller (9.1%), Jenni Hiirikoski (8.3%) and Sandra Abstreiter (7.9%). Kendall Coyne Schofield of Team USA was the other finalist, while several players also received write in votes.
Last year USA's Hilary Knight won the inaugural honor.
