Kristin Della Rovere who spent last season with PWHL Ottawa is headed to Italy to play with Bolzano and eventually represent Team Italy.

Zoe Boyd and Kristin Della Rovere were best friends as children, now they're teammates with PWHL Ottawa.

Kristin Della Rovere who played for PWHL Ottawa last a season has signed to play in Italy next season with the EWHL’s Bolzano Eagles.

"I am overjoyed and honored that I have been given the opportunity to play for the Eagles…” Della Rovere said in a team news release. "I look forward to getting to know my coaches and teammates and deepening my Italian roots.”

According to the Bolzano news release the team had interest in Della Rovere prior to this season.

Della Rovere is interested in qualify for citizenship in time to represent Italy as hosts of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Della Rovere only played nine games with PWHL Ottawa last season recording a single goal before suffering a season ending injury. 

She was a draft pick of Ottawa after completing a successful NCAA career with Harvard where she recorded 122 points in 128 games, finishing her career as captain.
