Julia Gosling and Nicole Gosling have played together before, but never as teammates on Canada's senior national team. Now they have, as the duo appeared with Canada at the Rivalry Series.

December is a month that often brings families together for reunions. If you looked in the stands at Kitchener's Memorial Auditorium, there were several jerseys with the name "Gosling" on the back.
Some of those were for Julia Gosling, some were for Nicole Gosling. Born only a year apart, the cousins grew up starring for teams in London, Ontario, and were teammates with the OWHL's London Devilettes for three seasons. They also played together for Canada's U-18 national team at the 2019 U-18 World Championships, helping Canada win gold.
This week however, the cousins broke new ground competing for the first time as teammates with Canada's senior national team. Julia Gosling made her national team debut last month, with Nicole joining her this month in the Rivalry Series.
"It was special, it was the first time we've been on the national team together," said Julia Gosling. "It was her debut and she deserved it, it's just special for our whole family, and I'm so glad I got to be here with her for her first game."
"It's always so special...any time you get to share the ice with a family member, obviously it makes it extra special," said Nicole Gosling of playing alongside her cousin.
For the past four years, the duo have been opponents, not teammates as they both play for powerhouse programs in the ECAC. Julia Gosling currently captains St. Lawrence University, while Nicole Gosling is a leader on Clarkson's blueline.
