Women's hockey legends Vicky Sunohara and Kim Martin-Hasson were among the six players named to the 2025 IIHF Hall of Fame induction class that will be honored by the organization this spring.

Kim Martin-Hasson played her NCAA hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and helped backstop Sweden to their only Olympic medals and World Championship medals. As Sweden's starter she helped upset Team USA at the 2006 Olympics to earn a silver medal, and for her efforts was named the 2006 Olympic Games' Best Goaltender. In 2010, she won bronze with Sweden at the Salt Lake City Olympics, for the first time beating Finland in a medal game. In North America, Martin-Hasson won a national championsip with Minnesota-Duluth in 2008. Following her playing career, Martin-Hasson became a general manager in Sweden's top women's league, the SDHL. Currently she is in her third season as general manager of Frolunda HC, building the team from Sweden's second league in her first season, to an immediate contender in the SDHL.

Joining Martin-Hasson is Canada's Vicky Sunohara. In her career as a member of Team Canada, including playing at the inaugural IIHF World Championship in 1990, Sunohara won seven World Championship gold medals and a silver, and two Olympic gold medals and a silver. She played U Sports hockey with the University of Toronto and NCAA hockey for Northeastern, and spent a decade starring for the Brampton Thunder in the CWHL and original NWHL. Currently, Sunohara is in her 14th season as head coach of the University of Toronto women's hockey team, being named U Sports coach of the year multiple times, and is also the head coach of Canada's U-18 national team.

They were joined by men's hockey players Zdeno Chara (SVK), Henrik Lundqvist (SWE), Frans Nielsen (DEN), and David Vyborny (CZE), and builder Kai Hietarinta (FIN).

The IIHF Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on medal day at the 2025 Men’s World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden, 25 May 2025.
