Sweden announced their women's national team for the upcoming Kloten stop on the Women's Euro Hockey Tour including key PWHL, NCAA, and SDHL standouts.
Sweden has named their national team roster for the first stop on the Women's Euro Hockey Tour this month in Switzerland.
It includes a number of PWHL and NCAA standouts, as well as the return of former captain Michelle Löwenhielm.
"I and the entire leadership team have long been looking forward to this tournament where we will get a first gauge of where we stand. The week will also give us important insights into working on our game and the work ahead. It is an intense autumn, with three tournaments in a short time before the World Cup, which will test us as a group and as a leadership team, where we will need to make the most of our time," Sweden's head coach Erika Holst said in a translated statement.
Among the 22-players is 2008-born forward Tilde Grillfors who is a rising star in the Swedish ranks. 23-year-old Ella Albinsson is also making her national program debut.
"The squad feels exciting. We have two debutants, Tilde Grillfors and Ella Albinsson, who both did well at our summer camp in Enköping and showed that they want to be involved and compete going forward," said Holst. "Attitude, hard work and cockiness in the game in front of the goal are important qualities in our game and I think that is reflected in this squad."
In net Ebba Svensson Träff and Ida Boman are the goaltenders who will guide the team. Svensson Träff was a standout for Sweden at the 2026 Olympics.
On the blueline, Mira Jungåker (Ohio State), Jessica Adolfsson (Linköping), Maja Nylén-Persson (New York Sirens), Ida Karlsson (Minnesota-Duluth), Josefine Holmgren (SDE HF), Jenna Raunio (Ohio State), and Anna Kjellbin (PWHL Hamilton) will all compete.
Up front Hilda Svensson (Ohio State), Tilde Grillfors (Brynäs), Sofie Lundin (Frölunda), Sara Hjalmarsson (Toronto Sceptres), Hanna Thuvik (Brynäs), Thea Johansson (Vancouver Goldeneyes), Ebba Hedqvist (Luleå), Lina Ljungblom (Montréal Victorie), Jenny Antonsson (Brynäs), Mira Hallin (MoDo), Ella Albinsson (Färjestad), Michelle Löwenhielm (Linköping), and Nicole Hall (Penn State) will fill out the roster.
Sweden opens their tournament August 19 against Switzerland before playing Czechia August 21 and Finland August 22.
