Sweden named their women's national team roster for the 2026 World Championships, a group that includes seven players heading to PWHL camps this November.

Sweden has named their roster for the 2026 World Championships in Denmark as they look to continue their climb into the world's elite programs. Notably, Sweden selected only 24 players, leaving one spot available should the nation look to add a player.

Among those competing will be PWHL veterans Maja Nylén-Persson (New York), Anna Kjellbin (PWHL Hamilton), Sara Hjalmarsson (Toronto Sceptres), and Lina Ljungblom (Montreal Victoire), as well as 2026 PWHL Draft picks Josefin Bouveng (PWHL Las Vegas) and Thea Johansson (Vancouver Goldeneyes), and free agent camp invite Michelle Löwenhielm (Toronto Sceptres).

The roster also includes several players currently competing in the NCAA including Mira Jungåker, Jenna Raunio, and Hilda Svensson of Ohio State, Penn State's Nicole Hall, and Minnesota-Duluth's Ida Karlsson. The remainder of Sweden's roster is currently competing in the SDHL.

Sweden used the first two stops on the 2026 Women's Euro Hockey Tour to help form their roster. They'll use the final stop on the tour this month on home ice in Södertälje as a World Championship tune up.

"After two tournaments, where we have made progress in both performance and results, we come to the Lidl Hockey Games with a good feeling. It is a very important week for us, where we will build on the last pieces of the puzzle in our game, to be completely ready when the World Championship starts the following week," said Erika Holst, who will take over as Sweden's new head coach, in a translated comment.

Sweden left several members of their 2026 Olympic roster at home, turning the page on a new Olympic cycle. Among the omissions from that roster were Tindra Holm, Jessica Adolfsson, Linnéa Andersson, Felizia Wikner Zienkiewicz, and long time national team offensive leader Hanna Olsson, who was an assistant captain in Milan.

Newcomers include netminder Ida Boman, who has previously represented Sweden at the World Championships, former captain Michelle Löwenhielm, defenders Lova Blom and Josefine Holmgren, and Wilma Sundin, and 18-year-old Tilde Grillfors, who was the youngest player named to Sweden's roster.

"This is a team that we know will compete every second on the ice but that can also play with the puck," said Holst. "I really like the attitude that exists in this group, where no challenge is seen as too big or difficult but you stick your head in and drive, that will be able to carry us far."

Sweden opens their 2026 World Championship tournament November 6 against Canada.
