Sweden held on to a one goal win over rival Finland to take third place at the Women's Euro Hockey Tour.

Sweden managed to pull off an upset over their European rivals Finland in the third place game at the 6-Nation Women's Euro Hockey Tour in Finland.
The Swedes beat Finland 2-1, escaping a late rally from the Finns.
In the second period, Lisa Johansson found a puck net front and pulled it cross crease to beat Finland's Emilia Krykko to open the scoring.
Sweden continued to play a well balanced game receiving contributions from all four lines. Midway through the third, they got an insurance marker as Hanna Thuvik powered into the offensive zone finding Sofie Lundin with a pass. Lundin returned the puck to a driving Thuvik who redirected it through Krykko to give the Swedes a 2-0 lead.
Less than a minute later, Sanni Vanhanen cut the lead in half scoring a shorthanded marker for Finland beating Emma Soderberg on the backhand. It looked as though Julia Schalin had tied it up for Finland minutes later, but the goal was waved off on a high stick.
As time ran down, Sweden shut the door and held on for the 2-1 victory. It was an impressive weak long performance by Sweden who were without their top players in Hanna Olsson, Anna Kjellbin, Maja Nylen Persson, and Lina Ljungblom, who make up the veteran core of their roster. Finland was missing Ronja Savolainen, Susanna Tapani, Noora Tulus, and Michelle Karvinen.
Canada and USA's development teams will fight for the title this afternoon.
