
Sweden shut out Japan 4-0 to claim gold at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, South Korea.

The pressure was all Team Japan, but the gold belongs to Team Sweden following an action packed gold medal game in Gangwon, South Korea at the 2024 Youth Winter Olympics.
Sweden's Tilde Wyckman came up big for her nation stopping all 27 shots she faced to lead Sweden, who only managed 14 shots of their own, to a 4-0 victory.
"I can’t find the words to describe how good she’s been," forward Nellie Noren said in an IIHF interview. "She’s so good and without her we wouldn't stand here with a gold medal."
Noren scored a third period goal to pad Sweden's lead. As they have all tournament, Tilde Grillfors and Ebba Westerlind paced Sweden's attack scoring first period goals. After Noren's third period marker, Matilda Osterman rounded out the scoring hitting the empty net with Japan's netminder pulled for the extra attacker.
For Sweden is was redemption from a 4-1 loss to Japan in the gold medal game four years ago.
In the bronze medal game, Germany beat Switzerland 3-1 to claim a medal. Emilija Bikra and Theresa Zielinski scored early on to give Germany the lead. Heading into the final minute up 2-1, Hanna Weichenhain found the empty net to put Germany up 3-1 earning bronze.
