Andrea Brandli, a recent NCAA graduate and Swiss national team member has signed to play in Sweden with MoDo.

NCAA standout and Swiss National Team starter Andrea Brandli has signed to play professional women's hockey in the SDHL with MoDo.

Brandli had been linked to multiple PHF teams, but ultimately chose to play in Sweden.

"I am incredibly looking forward to starting my new journey in professional women's hockey at such a prestigious place as MoDo," said Brandli in a team press release. "I know this is the best set up I can take to develop as both a player and a person, and I'm looking forward to getting started."

Last season, Brandli played for Boston University posting a 2.41 GAA and .928 save percentage, along with two shutouts in 25 games for the Terriers.

Brandli was a key to Switzerland's success at the World Championships this year keeping her team in games against powerhouse nations.

The contract is a three-year deal, although both parties have an option after year one of the deal.

"We are very happy that Andrea chose to come to us," says Bjorn Edlund of MoDo. "She is a class goalkeeper with a lot of experience at the international top level, where with Switzerland she has always faced the best teams in the higher seeded group."

With Brandli coming into Modo, the team parts ways with another former NCAA standout, American Lauren Bench, who played five seasons in the NCAA with Bemidji State and Minnesota-Duluth.
