Switzerland opens their national team summer camp this week in Zug, as they prepare to defend their Olympic bronze medal this year in international competition.
Switzerland's women's hockey program is coming off a highly successful campaign that culminated in a bronze medal at the 2026 Olympics, but with a new international calendar set to open, the program is looking to make another mark at the World Championships in November.
The program has yet to fill their head coaching vacancy, but are on the ice this week for their national team camp and training sessions for their top prospects from July 2-5 at OYM in Zug.
Headlining the women's national team roster that has convened in Zug is captain Lara Stalder, who has played more than 200 games with Switzerland's national team. In net, Andrea Brändli (PWHL Detroit) and Saskia Maurer (PWHL Las Vegas) will take part in net. Brändli was the 15th overall pick in the 2026 PWHL Draft, while Maurer heard her name called in the fourth round, 41st overall.
Monja Wagner who played for Union College in the NCAA is the final netminder attending. Up front, NCAA players Laura Zimmermann, Ivana Wey, and Naemi Herzig will be attendance, as well as veteran national team forwards Rahel Enzler (EV Zug), Sinja Leemann (SC Bern), Leoni Balzer (HC Davos), and Alina Marti (EV Zug) who all won bronze with Switzerland in Milan. Rounding out the forward group up front are Jael Mantesch (EV Zug), Norina Müller (HC Fribourg-Gottéron), Luisa Waser (EV Zug), and the youngest forward in camp, Livia Tschannen (HC Fribourg-Gottéron).
New York Sirens defender Nicole Vallario and Northeastern's Alessia Baechler highlight the defensive group, that also includes Olympic veterans Laure Mériguet (Genève-Servette HC) and Annic Büchi (EV Zug). THe remainder of the national team blueline includes Alizée Aymon (SC Bern), Elena Gaberell (HC Davos), Nina Harju (EV Zug), and Alena Lynn Rossel (HC Davos),
While the national team is the focus, Switzerland is continuing to build a prospect lineup, one that played internationally during the Olympics against other non-competing nations this winter.
Members of the prospect lineup including Talina Benderer, Yara Keller and Chiara Pfosi in net; Nele Bachmann, Miriana Bottoni, Mara Frey, Sonja Inkamp, Alexane Juillard, Rebecca Langenegger, Sarina Messikommer, and Aurela Thalmann on the blueline; and Xenia Balzarolo, Elisa Dalessi, Lia Egger, Chiara Eggli, Hannah Estermann, Nora Harju, Lenni Kozuh, Ilana Leibundgut, Renée Ariana Lendi, Jana Peter, Jade Surdez, and Aiyana Vuillemin up front.
Switzerland will be without some of their biggest names including Alina Muller and Lara Christen at the camp.
