Ukraine captured gold at the IIHF women's World Championship Division IIIA tournament, earning promotion to Division IIB, where the nation has not played since 2020.
Ukraine defeated Croatia 6-1 in the final game of the tournament to secure their top spot with Viktoria Tsenova scoring twice, and singles coming from captain Valeria Manchak, Olexandra Mashkina, Polina Telehina, and Antonina Rohanova.
Ukraine finished the tournament undefeated, with four of their wins coming in regulation. Romania finished second with their only loss coming to Ukraine, 5-1.
Machak-Jensen led the tournament in scoring with eight goals and 18 points in only five games. She was followed in the scoring charts by teammatees Telehina and Daria Tysmyrenko who each had 13 points in five games.
Ukraine was backstopped in the tournament by Viktoria Tkachenko who posted a 1.27 GAA and .921 save percentage.
Telehina and Tsymyrenko are the top Ukrainian players competing outside the nation, as both play in Switzerland's top division.
