USA named 31 players to their national team roster ahead of the 2026 World Championships and announced they’ll host a pre-tournament game in Plymouth, Michigan against Canada.
USA Hockey this week unveiled their 31 player camp roster to select their roster for the 2026 IIHF women’s World Championships in Denmark.
The camp will take place from September 13-19 at the NSC Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.
USA Hockey is bringing all 23 members of their 2026 Olympic gold medal winning roster back to camp.
Among newcomers looking to steal a roster spot are PWHL veterans Casey O’Brien and Jesse Compher, and soon-to-be PWHL rookies Lacey Eden, Sloane Matthews, Grace Dwyer, Emma Peschel, and Sydney Morrow.
Only one current NCAA player outside Joy Dunne (Ohio State) and Ava McNaughton (Wisconsin) who are returning members of USA was invited in defender Laney Potter (USA)
Next week’s camp marks the first of two training camps in the lead up to the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship, which is set for Nov. 6-16 in Herning and Esbjerg, Denmark.
USA’s only position that has no spots up for grabs at camp is in net where Aerin Frankel, Gwyneth Philips, and McNaughton return as the unquestioned trio.
USA To Host Canada In Plymouth, Michigan
After Canada announced a pre-World game against USA in Windsor, Ontario on October 28, the pre-tournament competition will move across the border to Plymouth, Michigan. Plymouth will also host a second week-long camp for USA from October 23-30.
USA will host Canada on October 30 at USA Hockey Arena at 7pm.
