USA Hockey unveiled their 25 player roster for the 2025 World Championships in Czechia. The roster includes many returning players from the 2024 silver medal team, as well as a handful of newcomers.

Among the returnees are forwards Hilary Knight, Alex Carpenter, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Britta Curl-Salemme, Joy Dunne, Lacey Eden, Taylor Heise, Tessa Janecke, Abbey Murphy, Kelly Pannek, Kirsten Simms, and Hayley Scamurra. Returning to the national team up front are Jesse Compher and Grace Zumwinkle who have represented USA before.

On the back end, Laila Edwards is a player to watch who could be moved up front if USA needs. USA also announced the return of Lee Stecklein to their national team, along with 2024 national team members Cayla Barnes, Savannah Harmon, Caroline Harvey, Megan Keller, and Haley Winn. Anna Wilgren was named to USA's national team for the first time. The defender is a rookie with the PWHL's Montreal Victoire.

The other newcomer to USA's roster is Wisconsin goaltender Ava McNaughton. She'll be joined by Aerin Frankel and Gwyneth Philips in net.

    Notable Omissions From USA's Roster

For the first time in recent seasons, USA is not bringing Cornell defender Rory Guilday. Guilday is set to enter the PWHL Draft this year where the big blueliner is expected to be one of the top picks.

Up front Hannah Bilka was not on the roster, which gives an indication that her injury may be longer term than originally anticipated.  Another notable omission was the absence of the NCAA's leading scorer Casey O'Brien who is a probably first round pick at this year's PWHL Draft.

In net, Nicole Hensley was left off Team USA after a decade with the national team. She has three World Championship gold, being named Best Goaltender at the 2022 tournament, and also has an Olympic gold with Team USA.

Other notable omissions from the roster include Kali Flanagan, Gabbie Hughes, Ally Simpson, Izzy Daniel, and Abby Boreen.
