Amanda Kessel will join the United States Hockey Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026. The long time American national team star is the lone woman entering the US Hockey Hall of Fame this year.
Amanda Kessel will be enshrined into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026. USA Hockey announced the class, which also includes her brother Phil Kessel, along with T.J. Oshie, Ryan Suter, and Stan Wong.
"You don't have to look far in our sport to find someone whose life was touched by one of these five," said Mike Trimboli, president of USA Hockey about the class.
"Their extraordinary contributions will be felt for generations to come, and it is with great pride that we welcome them among the all-time greats of the sport in our country."
The US Hockey Hall of Fame Induction celebration will be held November 30, 2026 in Washington, D.C.
Amanda Kessel is a three-time Olympian winning gold in 2018 and silver in 2022 and 2024. Kessel also won four gold medals as a member of USA's World Championship roster, along with three silver medals scoring 59 points in 43 career games at Worlds.
At the U-18 level, Kessel won U-18 World Championship gold in both 2008 and 2009. Her 19 points at the 2009 tournament in five games remains a tournament record, and she's also the tournament's all-time assists leader.
Collegiately, Kessel won three natonal championships with the University of Minnesota, won the 2013 Patty Kazmaier Award as the NCAA's top player, and was named USA Hockey’s Bob Allen Women’s Player of the Year in 2013 after scoring 101 points in 37 games.
Professionally, Kessel played in the NWHL and PWHPA. She entered the PWHL Draft being selected by the Montreal Victoire, but opted not to play. Since 2022 Kessel has been a staff member with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, including as an assistant general manager.
