

Amanda Pelkey, former Team USA member and Metropolitan Riveters forward, has joined the NHL's New Jersey Devils as the team's Female Hockey Ambassador.

Pelkey is the first woman to hold the role for the Devils, with her role involving appearances at Learn To Play clinics across the state and other efforts to grow the participation of women and girls in the sport.
“I am extremely excited to become a part of the New Jersey Devils Organization as the Female Ambassador for Youth Hockey and Growth Initiatives,” said Pelkey in a Devils news release. “Growing this game at the grassroots level and connecting with future generations of players is something I have always been passionate about and this position will allow me to dive in and make an impact. The Devils organization has pushed the needle forward in all aspects and I am looking forward to building on their success.”
Pelkey, a former Olympian for Team USA spent last season playing for the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters.
This season, she is looking to secure a spot in the new PWHL, as Pelkey will attend training camp with Boston as a free agent invite.
