Northfield High senior Ayla Puppe became the 19th player in Minnesota women's high school hockey history to eclipse the 100 point mark.
Northfield High School Raiders women's hockey captain Ayla Puppe became the 19th player in Minnesota girls high school hockey history to eclipse the 100 point mark.
She passed the plateau on February 1 scoring four points in an 8-0 win over Mankato West. Wednesday she finished her season with another four point effort to conclude her season with 59 goals and 106 points in 26 games.
Puppe, a likely candidate to be considered for Minnesota's Ms. Hockey Award, is committed to play NCAA hockey next season for the University of Minnesota where she'll join a powerhouse group, not only in the present, but from the past as well.
Looking at Minnesota high school products who scored 100 points and went on to play women's hockey for the Golden Gophers, it's a group that includes Natalie Darwitz, Krissy Wendell-Pohl, Winny Brodt-Brown, and Gigi Marvin. That's impressive company for Puppe.
Last season Puppe recorded 54 goals and 88 points in 28 games for Northfield.
