Celly Summer League Set To Drop The Puck In Minnesota

The Celly Summer League is set to drop the puck on their inaugural season of women's hockey for pro, NCAA, and NCAA bound players.

It's summer hockey season, and Minnesota's Celly Summer League is bringing together some of the best women in the game.

The five team league will play out of Bloomington, Minnesota, bringing together top professional, NCAA, and high school players from the state. The league's inaugural season begins July 11 and runs through August.

“The collegiate players and the players getting ready to go to college needed somewhere to play some high competitive games, to get ready and to prepare for their college season. I was thinking it is something that has been missing for a long time,” said Chris Peterson, one of the founders of Celly Summer League

Some of the top professionals competing in the league include Jonna Albers, Allie Thunstrom, Brittyn Fleming, Liz Schepers, Denisa Krisova, Natalie Snodgrass, , PAtti Marshall, Makayla Langel, Paetyn Levis, Maggie Flaherty, Claire Butorac, Abigail Boreen, and Catie Skaja.

Top NCAA and high school players include Vivian Jungels, Skylar Vetter, Emily Zumwinkle, Madison Kaiser, Ella Boerger, Ava Lindsay, Madeline Wethington, Uma Cormia, Claire Enright, Josie Hemp, Sedona Blair, Peyton Hemp, Suzi Higuchi, Elly Klepinger, Grace Sadura, Ellah Hause.

The 15-game season will play games of two 25-minute halves with the championship game scheduled for August 6.
