ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings Sign Mariah Fujimagari To PTO

he Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks signed goaltender Mariah Fujimagari signed to a Professional Tryout contract (PTO).

Fujimagari, 29, is a 5-foot 11-inch netminder who played professionally in Sweden for AIK in the Sweden's SDHL.

“Mariah is an athletic goaltender that battles on every shot and reads the play well,” head coach Joel Martin said.

Prior to joining Kalamazoo, Fujimagari played her NCAA hockey with the University of Maine, and also played for SKP Bratislava in the EWHL, the Worcester Blades in the CWHL, and the PHF's Buffalo Beauts and Connecticut Whale.

"I couldn't be happier to join the K-Wings,” Fujimagari said. “I'm going to make sure to set the tone from the start with a solid performance every day. I'm most excited to be a part of the Kalamazoo community and skate in front of the amazing fans."

Kalamazoo’s home opener is October 21 versus Toledo Walleye.
