Each offseason players across the PWHL and women's hockey worlds seek summer leagues to stay on the ice. This year, a new opportunity launched for women in British Columbia in the Fraser Valley Super League.

In the inaugural season, PWHL players including Jennifer Gardiner, Sandra Abstreiter, Jenna Buglioni, Malia Schneider, Tova Henderson, Kim Newell, Grace Elliott are all competing in the FVSL.

The league was launched by former NHL player John Craighead who said the FVSL was created "with the vision of creating a high-level development and showcase environment for elite hockey players."

Other notable players in the league include former PWHL player Leah Lum who is eyeing a comeback,  and NCAA players Ainsley D'Ottavio, Jordan Baxter, Molly Cole, Aurora Kahlert, Cass Kehler
