USA Hockey is hosting the BioSteel Girls U-18 Select Player Development Camp this week in Oxford, Ohio featuring the best 2006, 2007, and 2008 born players in the USA.

Among the invitees were 34 forwards, 25 defenders, and three goaltenders, including seven players eligible to return to USA's national U-18 team from last year's bronze medal winning U-18 World Championship roster.

Those returnees include goaltender Layla Hemp, defenders Rose Dwyer and Megan Healy, and forwards Maggie Scannell, Kendra Distad, Josie St. Martin, and Bella Fanale.

Among the newcomers hoping to make the roster are several top scorers including Philadelphia Jr. Flyers forward Ava Thomas who scored 120 points in 78 games at the 19U 'AAA' level this season, Addison Spitz, who scored 98 goals for Little Caesars 19U 'AAA' team, Sawyer Fleming, a physical forward who notched 72 points in 60 games for Shattuck St. Mary's, and Ayla Puppe who scored 53 goals and 88 points for Northfield High in Minnesota. Other names to watch include Alana Devlin, Chloe Boreen, and Mikah Keller.

On the blueline, University of Minnesota commit Carly Humphrey, Ella Sennick of the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, Ellie Dimatos who split the year between women's high school hockey and boys' 'AAA', and Kiera Dempsey from NAHA.

Alongside Hemp in net, USA Hockey also invited Philadelphia Jr. Flyers netminder Maelee Ambrass, and Natalie Frey Perusse who split time between women's hockey with Newark Ironbound and boys' 'AAA' with the Long Island Gulls.

Following the Girls 16/17 Camp and Minnesota 15s camp, additional names may be added to the final U-18 camp roster.

The final camp is scheduled to take place from July 16 to July 22.
