Mariah Fujimagari appeared in a preseason game with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, earning a win.

Fujimagari replaced Jonathan Lemieux for the third period of the game making 14 saves, including five in overtime to help the Wings earn a 4-3 win.

The goaltender on the losing side for the Toledo Walleye was Detroit Red Wings fourth round pick Jan Bednar.

Fujimagari, 29, a 5-foot 11-inch netminder signed a PTO with Kalamazoo last month after playing professionally in Sweden for AIK in the Sweden's SDHL last season. She also played professionally in North America with the Worcester Blades in the CWHL, and the PHF's Buffalo Beauts and Connecticut Whale.

Fujimagari is not the first woman to netmind in an ECHL game, although she's the first in more than two decades. American netminder Erin Whitten played four regular season games for the Toledo Storm during the 1993-1994 season, and Manon Rheaume, who played eight games in the 1993-1994 season for Knoxville and Nashville, and a game for Tallahassee the season after.

Kalamazoo opens their regular season this weekend.
