The new professional women's hockey league has made their first public call for general managers to "be responsible for the management and coordination of all hockey operations, including on- and off-ice requirements."

The job posting, published by Bloom Sports Partners, who work with the NWSL's Angel City and Orlando franchises, closes August 4, with candidates set to work alongside former PWHPA lead consultant Jayna Hefford, who will take a hockey operations role with the new league.

The job posting lists only a "competitive base salary" and no specific city where a general manager would be assigned. The league is looking to hire six individuals to oversee the proposed six franchises slated to join the new league.

According to the job posting, the new general managers will be responsible for the "development of a sporting strategy, recruitment of a head coach, player scouting and recruitment, player acquisition, trades, player contract negotiations, player development, medical and performance, equipment, and oversight of the team’s hockey operations department and budget."

None of the general managers from the PHF were retained as staff members of the new league, although all would presumably be eligible to apply. Those individuals include Madison Rigsby (Boston), Nathaniel Oliver (Buffalo), Chi-Yin Tse (Minnesota), Kevin Raphael (Montreal), Angela James (Toronto), Alexis Moed (Connecticut), and Tori Charron (Metropolitan). Similarly four individuals held those roles in the PWHPA including Matt Leitner (Team Adidas), Danièle Sauvageau (Team Harvey's), Becky McGee (Team Scotiabank), and Rebecca Micheal (Team Sonnet).
