Former Team Canada goaltender and PWHPA member Genevieve Lacasse will hang up her pads, and is not headed to the PWHL.
Olympic gold medalist and World Champion Genevieve Lacasse will not play in the new PWHL as was reported during the PWHL Ottawa press conference.
According to Emmerance Maschmeyer, who signed with Ottawa's PWHL franchise and married Lacasse this summer, Lacasse will not join the new league.

Lacasse, 34, was a two-time CWHL champion playing with the Boston Blades, and was named the CWHL's Goaltender of the Year during the 2012-2013 season.
The Providence College alumni was a member of Canada's 2014 Olympic gold medal winning team and won Olympic silver with Canada in 2018.
Lacasse last played for Team Canada at the 2019 World Championships posting a 0.50 GAA and .929 save percentage, including one shutout.
