RHA Kelowna won the 2024 Stoney Creek University Showcase, a tournament filled with the top young players from across North America.

RHA Kelowna put an early season stamp on their claim as the top team in North America winning the Stoney Creek University Showcase this weekend. RHA Kelowna outscored their opponents 25-2 in four round robin games.
In the semi-final they shutout the host Stoney Creek Sabres, before beating perennial powerhouse, the Etobicoke Dolphins, in the championship game.
16-year-old Alida Korte paced Kelowna scoring seven goals and 10 points in the tournament, including a goal and an assist in RHA's 3-2 win over Etobicoke in the final. Hayley MacDonald, who played for Team Canada at this summer's U-18 series against USA had nine points. Kennedy Sisson was also a standout for RHA Kelowna, and had the other gold medal game goal.
RHA Kelowna proved their depth as this was the first tournament they've played without star Chloe Primerano who departed a year early for the NCAA with the University of Minnesota. Primerano was only a few kilometres away at Canada's senior national team camp in Thorold, Ontario this weekend.
Without surprise, the runner up Etobicoke Dolphins flashed their high octane offense all weekend. New Brunswick product Ava Wood, who is in her first season with the Dolphins topped team scoring with 13 points, followed by Colgate commit Emma Beauchamp who tallied 12 points.
In the silver final, Bishop Kearney defeated Limoilou 5-1. The Quebec team saw consistent performances throughout the tournament from Canada U-18 national team members Rosalie Breton and Marilou Grenier. Nela Lopusanova was Bishop Kearney's top scorer in the tournament, followed by Stryker Zablocki who is in her first season with the American program after playing for the Regina Rebels last year.
Other top performers from the tournament included Ava Thomas (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers), Jordan Mulvihill (Ottawa Sens), Maxine Cimeroni (Mississauga), and Caileigh Tillier (Burlington).
