Stan Kasten's name might be new to women's hockey but it's not to men's hockey. He was #38 on The Hockey News' 2003 People of Power & Influence list.

Stan Kasten is new to the women's hockey world, sitting on the advisory board for the new Professional Women's Hockey League. But the Los Angeles Dodgers president is not new to the hockey world. In 2002 he was 86th on The Hockey News' People of Power & Influence list, and in 2003 he climbed to 38th.
Here's what his blurb in The Hockey News that year said about the then Atlanta Thrashers president.
"The Atlanta president is tight with Bettman, who knows Kasten from his days with the NBA. Kasten, 50, was close to baseball’s labor talks and he also sits on the NBAs board of governors. He’s the only NHL governor with that kind of depth; expect him to be a player in the CBA talks."
