For the first time, the Women's World Challenge for Para Ice Hockey will move outside of North America, to be hosted in Skien, Norway.
The first two years of the event were held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, but the 2024 edition will take place at Skien Fritidspark from October 25-28. The goal of the event is to continue to build toward an official World Championship in 2025.
Last year, USA defended their title as champions of the 2023 Women's World Challenge playing against teams from Canada, USA, Great Britain, and a squad representing Team World. Last year 11 different nations were represented on Team World.
Norway is no stranger to hosting international competition at Skien Fritidspark as the facility also hosted the 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championships B-Pool.
USA has won gold the first two years of the tournament, with Canada winning silver and Team World taking bronze at each.
