The 2025 PWHL Draft added another cohort of stars to the league including players like first overall pick Kristyna Kaltounkova and defender Haley Winn. Next season, the 2026 PWHL Draft is stacked with talent like Caroline Harvey, Laila Edwards, and Abbey Murphy.
The 2027 PWHL Draft remains two years away, but it will be another opportunity to bolster talent within the league. 2027 will be the next opportunity for teams in the league to add elite goaltenders who could step in and play immediately. While it might not have the star power of the 2026 Draft, there will be a wealth of players at all positions ready to join the PWHL.
Here's a look at 10 players eligible for the 2027 PWHL Draft you need to know.
Power forward, already capable of making an impact against the best in the world for Team USA. Her sister Jincy Roese is in her third season in the league, now with the New York Sirens.
A 200-foot impact player who is a member of Canada's national development team and looks like a player who will crack their national team roster sooner than later. She's the heart of an Ohio State team welcoming a wealth of talent this year.
Another member of Canada's national development team, Pais is ready to take another step forward this year as a top line scorer in the NCAA. She's already capable of being in the PWHL, and that speaks volumes.
A top producer for Wisconsin, she'll have a season to shine after this year's cohort graduates, but has already managed impressive production as a Badger. Offensively, Hall is creative and finds space on the ice to make plays. With great speed and an accurate shot, she's an offensive talent.
A big and physical defender who takes care of her own zone first, Potter showed offensive growth this season and is rounding into form as the potential top blueliner in this draft.
Potter will be challenged by her Canadian counterpart on the Wisconsin blueline. Murphy is more of a puck mover capable of joining the rush or walking the line to find openings.
The 5-foot-11 power forward took a huge step offensively last season, more than doubling her output. If she continues that trend, Gorbatenko will be challenging for a first-round draft spot.
Already Canada's third goalie and a First Team All-American, Gascon was the best netminder in NCAA hockey last year and will continue to fight for that recognition. 2027 will be the 'year of the goalie' as a wealth of talented netminders prepare to enter the league.
Speaking of talented goalies, Ava McNaughton combines size, a calming presence, and big-game experience. She's USA's third goalie, and looks like she'll challenge for more. Future PWHL starter.
Through her U-18 years, Bergmann was USA's star. McNaughton has passed her, but not by much. A big goalie and the ECAC Goaltender of the Year, Bergmann just needs to show consistency at the next level, but she's a future PWHL starter.
