    The 2025 PWHL Draft is less than a month away with the draft set to take place June 24 in Ottawa.

    Earlier this month the PWHL unveiled the full eligibility list. The list itself, according to the PWHL, could change as players choose to remove themselves from the list leading up to the date, but the initial list was large, with a wide range of ages, experience, nationalities, and leagues represented.

    The 2025 PWHL Draft will see the New York Sirens selecting first overall.

    Here's a look at the 2025 PWHL Draft eligibility list, by the numbers.

    • 6 rounds of picks, and 48 total players will be selected
    • 199 total players are eligible for the PWHL Draft. More declared, but the PWHL whittled the list down removing any players who remained under contract without an out-clause for next season.
    • 117 forwards, 56 defenders, and 26 goaltenders declared for the draft.
    • 15 nations were represented in the declarations including Canada, China, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and USA.
    • 113 players declared from NCAA Division 1 programs.
    • Ohio State and Minnesota-Duluth were the top program represented with 7 players declaring. Quinnipiac and Clarkson were the top non-WCHA programs with 6 players who declared.
    • 3 players declared from NCAA Division III programs.
    • 26 players declared from U Sports in Canada.
    • The University of British Columbia was Canada's top represented school with 5 players declaring.
    • 42 players declared from other professional women's leagues including the SDHL, SWHL, EWHL, DFEL, ZhHL, and WCIHL.
    • 15 players who declared themselves eligible for the 2025 PWHL Draft did not play in the 2024-25 season.
    • The oldest players to declare for the 2025 PWHL Draft are 41-year-old Shannon Briggs, followed by 37-year-old Allie Thunstrom.
    • The tallest player on the draft eligibility list is 6'1" Boston University defender Julia Shaunessy.
    • The SDHL, Europe's top league which is based out of Sweden, led all pro leagues with 14 players who declared, followed by the EWHL and SWHL with 6, WCIHL with 4, and DFEL and ZhHL with 2 each.
    • 88 is the highest point total this past season of any player who declared for the draft. That total belongs to Wisconsin forward Casey O'Brien. She's followed by Russian forward Anna Shokhina who had 73 points last year.
    • 15 players have declared themselves eligible for the PWHL Draft who also entered the 2024 PWHL Draft.
    • 33 players have represented their nation at the senior national team level.
    • The most decorated player in the 2025 PWHL Draft internationaly is Michelle Karvinen, who has 11 World Championship and Olympic medals.
