    Ella Huber

Ella Huber is an intelligent and swift skating forward from the University of Minnesota. The Northfield, Illinois centre is a top prospect for the 2025 PWHL Draft.

Huber scored a career high 48 points in 42 games this season for the Golden Gophers and played a key role for USA's national development team at the Summer Showcase and Six Nations Tournament.

Huber is excited for the opportunity to turn professional in the PWHL.

"I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to become a professional athlete," Huber told The Hockey News. "In the short time the league has been running, it has been a huge inspiration for me and I’d be very excited to contribute to women’s hockey by playing in the PWHL."

Huber uses her skating and hockey sense to create time and space for herself and her teammates. She likes to play around the net and is not afraid to get to the difficult areas on the ice.

Defensively, Huber is responsible, and was relied upon heavily to take key defensive face-offs for the Golden Gophers this season. Her defensive zone face-off percentage, winning 60.2% of her d-zone draws was second in the NCAA among draft eligible players last season only to Kristyna Kaltounkova.

Offensively, Huber likes to get to the net and tracks pucks well keeping her body open to the play, and being first to retrievals for second opportunities. She's a player PWHL teams will target to bolster their secondary scoring, and Huber has the offensive upside to potentially challenge for a top six role as the year progresses.
